Back at it for the road season
The new season is fast approaching and I have been busy training and getting ready. This season will be a lot different than past seasons I have had. With this only being my second year of training with a proper base, my season will be a lot more slow starting than last year, mainly because of racing into the middle of January! I needed to take some extra time off this year to really make sure I was recovered from the constant beat downs I was receiving in Europe.
After a good break with some relaxation, I am back in full swing and ready for the season to start. And that is THIS weekend with team training camp for the JAM Fund / NCC. This will be my third year with the team and I couldn’t be happier to continue on this fast growing program. This year there will be a lot more travel to some of the bigger races. Starting with the Tour of Battenkill on April 15th and hitting other big races such as the Tour of the Dairylands, Nationals, Glencoe Grand Prix, and many more to be decided.
The best part about the JAM Fund is that all the members of the team live within a 20 mile radius. So weekend riding is always with at least 6 or 7 of your teammates and it will make for a much more cohesive group of riders and hopefully a lot of really good results.
Besides training and all that boring stuff, my life has been pretty good. I still live with good friends in Amherst MA, I got a new Iphone, and most importantly Gabby Day is coming in 5 DAYS! So life is pretty good right now. The weather has been in the 70′s here in MA which makes training a lot easier this time of year.
The JAM Fund Grand Fundo registration is open now. This is the ride that supports our program and its a really fun time on July 14th, so clear your schedules and get out there for it!
That is all for now. Check back soon for weekly updates once the season gets going!
